We’re a close-knit team at Dunslow Road Vets and we care passionately about looking after your pets. Find out more about our people below.
Richard Hambridge MRCVS BVSc
Richard qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Liverpool University in 1990 and worked in different practices before setting up Dunslow Road Vets in 2009. Since setting up the practice, Richard has grown the surgery and is hoping to continue this expansion in the future. In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and children and looking after his many animals; including dogs, chickens, turkeys, fish and many more. He also enjoys going out for long walks and bird watching.
Ania Szymkowiak MRCVS
Ania qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Warminsko-Mazurski University in Poland in 2008. She worked in practice in Poland, dealing mainly with small mammals for ten years before coming to the UK and starting to work with us in 2018. In her spare time, Ania loves to go cycling and walking, particularly near the coast. She also enjoys drawing and colouring and her artwork can be seen around the practice.
Chloe Greenley RVN
Chloe started working with us in September 2019 and recently took over as our Head Vet Nurse in October 2020. She completed her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in January 2018 at the College of Animal Welfare Leeds. She has been working in the industry since 2013, starting as a Saturday girl and working her way up. In her spare time, she enjoys looking after all her rescue animals and spending time outside with her dog, horse and her partner.
Paige joined us in August 2020 as our Student Veterinary Nurse. She is currently in her second year at Askham Bryan College. She hopes to continue working for us throughout her studies and continue on as a Registered Vet Nurse when she has qualified. In her spare time she enjoys baking us lots of tasty treats (which we all enjoy) and spending time with friends and family.
Chris started working for us back in 2009 when the practice first opened as our Veterinary Nursing Assistant. She had studied Animal Management at Bishop Burton after she finished school and followed it with a degree in Animal Behaviour and training. After a career break she has come back to work for us and is looking to pursue her career and study to become a Registered Vet Nurse. In her spare time, Chris likes to walk her dog Bonnie.
Gemma has undergone her work experience with us while studying Animal Management for the last several years as Askham Bryan College. She will join our team full time this summer as our second Veterinary Nursing Assistant. She is looking forward to expanding her knowledge of nursing and continuing her studies to become a Registered Vet Nurse. In her spare time she enjoys looking after her many animals including her horse, dogs, cats and chickens.
Jane has worked for us here since 2017 as one of our receptionists and recently took the position as our head receptionist; and says that it is her perfect job as she gets to meet such lovely patients and their humans! In her spare time, she enjoys walking her two Wire-Haired Dachshunds and exploring the lovely countryside. She also enjoys looking after her grandson which she says is always fun.
Sue joined us in April 2019 as our second receptionist as she wanted to pursue a career which she was passionate about. Prior to working with us, Sue spent 20 years working at a taxi firm in Scarborough and gained her NVQ in Customer Care in 2010. In her spare time, Sue looks after her four children and grandchildren; and enjoys looking after her crazy Burmese Mountain dogs, Chilly and Shadow.
Claire started working for us in July 2020 as one of our receptionists. She is a BHS riding instructor and gained her Intermediate Instructor’s qualification in 1991. Claire has spent many years starting young horses and has a passion for animals all her life so working with us is a dream job. She enjoys walking for hours with her three dogs and spending spare time with her mare Claudia.
Sam recently joined our team as our new receptionist. After moving down from Scotland to Scarborough and raising a family with her partner, Sam has decided to dip her toes into the veterinary field and join our team. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and looking after her dog, Marley, and three cats, Dusty, Michael and Princess.
