Vets
Richard Hambridge MRCVS BVSc
Richard qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Liverpool University in 1990 and worked in different practices before setting up Dunslow Road Vets in 2009. Since setting up the practice, Richard has grown the surgery and is hoping to continue this expansion in the future. In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and children and looking after his many animals; including dogs, chickens, turkeys, fish and many more. He also enjoys going out for long walks and bird watching.
Ania Szymkowiak MRCVS
Ania qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Warminsko-Mazurski University in Poland in 2008. She worked in practice in Poland, dealing mainly with small mammals for ten years before coming to the UK and starting to work with us in 2018. In her spare time, Ania loves to go cycling and walking, particularly near the coast. She also enjoys drawing and colouring and her artwork can be seen around the practice.
Amy Speight BVM BVS MRCVS
Amy graduated from the University of Nottingham in December 2025 and joined the team in January 2026 after completing her student placements with us. She already feels right at home in the practice and loves being part of the team. Outside of work, Amy enjoys going on walks with her dog Billy and spending time crocheting.
Juliette Delon MRCVS DVM
Juliette qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Cluj-Napoca University in Romania in 2023. She was born and brought up in France but decided to practice veterinary medicine back in the UK to be closer to her family. In her spare time, Juliette enjoys the outdoors, travelling and reading a good book with a nice cup of tea!
Nurses
Lesley Boynton RVN
Lesley qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2008. After a break from the veterinary field to raise her two children and help her husband run a farm, she joined our team in 2022. In her time away from work, she still helps on the farm, enjoys spends time with her family and takes part in flyball competitions with her Parsons Jack Russell Terrier, Ed.
Claire Wood RVN
A self confessed “crazy bunny lady”, Clare joined the team in May. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2023, having worked in the veterinary industry since 2013. Clare is now working toward her Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Small Animal Species. Her favourite part of the job is working with all of the small furries who come into the practice and is particularly keen on nursing our rabbit patients. She fully embraces the crazy rabbit lady title and is Mum to 8 rescue rabbits! Outside of work, Clare enjoys reading,dancing, and attending the bi-annual Whitby Goth Festival.
Gemma Callaghan RVN
Gemma started here as a work experience student whilst studying Animal Management at Askham Bryan College, she then went on to study Veterinary Nursing with us and qualified as an RVN in 2024. In her spare time she enjoys looking after her many animals including her dogs, cats and chickens.
Emily Watkinson RVN
Emily joined the team in September 2024 to complete the final stages of her student nurse training and has now qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)! Emily has a keen interest for Beagles and Exotics, having previously completed a degree in Zoo Management at Askham Bryan. In her spare time shetrains and competes in Strongwoman, so isn’t afraid of lifting the big dogs!
Sam Jordan
After moving down from Scotland to Scarborough and raising a family with her partner, Sam has decided to dip her toes into the veterinary field and join our team as our animal nursing assistant. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and looking after her three cats, Dusty, Michael and Princess.
Stephanie Barraclough RVN
Steph has worked in practice since 2008 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2014. She enjoys nursing the variety of cases you see day to day in small animal practice. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young daughters. Also caring for a menagerie of animals, 3 cats, 3 dogs, goats, ferrets, an array of different poultry and her beloved horses, as well as attending local shows and hacking in the North Yorkshire moors.
Megan Wilkinson
Megan studied Animal Management at college and brings experience from culinary and care work to her role as a VCA. She has a genuine love for animals, evident in her work and at home with her two children and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys running and outdoor activities.
Milly Armstrong-Clark
After many years of working within the animal industry, Milly joined the practice in September 2025 as a Receptionist/VCA. She loves all animals and has grown up with a range of reptiles, insects and small furries! In her spare time she enjoys walking in the countryside with her husband, little boy and Golden Retriever Poppy. She also loves watching live music and comedy (when she can get a baby sitter!) and cuddling up at home with her two rescue cats.
Reception team
Chris Allan
Chris joined the practice in 2009 when it first opened, starting her career with us as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant. She studied Animal Management and Behaviour at Bishop Burton College. After taking a career break, Chris returned to the practice as a receptionist and has since progressed into the role of Practice Manager. Outside of work, Chris enjoys walking her dogs, Bonnie and Dexter, cross-stitching, and gaming.
Carol Hall
After running a guest house and raising her three children, Carol joined our receptionist team in 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her dog, Bailey and her cat, Dora. She especially loves spending time with her granddaughter, Tillie.
Janet Dykes
After raising her two daughters with her husband and working in different admin and retail positions, Janet joined our receptionist team in Easter 2021. When not at work, Janet loves to spend time with her granddaughter Poppy and grandson Archie and taking her Sprocker Spaniel Sam out for long walks in the countryside.
Amanda Pickard
Mandy has had experience as a veterinary receptionist for nearly 10 years and loves the variety this brings. She loves spending time with her two cats, she lost her beloved Archie, her 16-year-old cat, in August and misses him terribly. She loves live music, theatre and the outdoors
Emma Bright
After working in pharmacy for many years Emma followed her passion for animals and became a veterinary receptionist 5 years ago. In her spare time she enjoys crafting with her son, and spending time with her cocker spaniel, Shadow, her cat, Yoshi and rabbits, Peter and Benjamin.
